hobbies
In the depths of college I never seem to have enough time, or space, for my hobbies. I hope to document all the plans I make here, so when (god willing) I find free time, I can get right back to where I left off.
media server
In hopes of moving away from the current scene of media streaming, I would like to build my own media server. Here I can host:
- My Photos
- Movies & Shows
- Music (in tandem with an MP3 player)
- Books (in tandem with an e-reader)
- other life documents
- like an email server or something? that would be cool
- other open source alternatives to the cloud hell we live in
clothes
In every lecture I attend I take a quick servey of the outfits people where, and everyday I see the same thing - men wearing t-shirts and girls wearing tank tops. I have made it a goal of mine to break this cycle.
quilting
Guys quilting is so awesome. I love practical crafts, I love bold patterns, and I love sewing, put it all together and I super love quilting.
radio telescope
The stars are calling for me, and by god, I will head them. My goal is to buy an old radio dish and put together a mount, articulated with motors and an arduino, that will allow me to do amateur radio astronomy.
Things I will need:
Radio dish (craigslist, marketplace?)
Motors (have, thank you high school robotics)
Motor Controllors (Cytron MD10C? REV SparkMini?)
Microcontroller (STM32, maybe Arduino)
Limit Switches
Reciever of some kind
